How does Jambo Bot work?
Jambo Bot was coded in Python and uses the Tweepy Library. It is hosted via Heroku. First, every 10 minutes a Heroku Plugin called Heroku Scheduler runs my Python Script. My script basically says, for each user in my followers list, check their latest tweet. If that tweet is liked, do nothing. If it is not liked, randomly generate a number between 1 and 94 (There are currently 94 Jambo Photos). Then, open a folder called 'images', and open the image that's name corresponds to the random number the script just generated. Then, upload that image to Twitter, and make a new tweet reply with a message of the random number that was generated. It does this for all of the followers in my follower list.
Who runs Jambo Bot?
I choose to remain anonymous for a few reasons. First, I like to protect my privacy. Second, I don't want to seen as using Jambo Bot to get personal glory or fame. I made it for fun back in August, and I maintain it as a passion project. It didn't take me more than a few hours to make, and it is hosted for free, and so the happiness I get from seeing people enjoy my account is enough reward.
Why doesn't Jambo Bot respond to all tweets in it's follower's list?
The Jambo Bot only runs once every (around) 10 minutes, and so if a user tweets more than once in that 10 minute period, only their latest tweet will be responded too. This isn't a bug - I could make it respond to all that were posted in the 10 min minute period, but I limit it to one to keep the spam down.
Why does Jambo Bot not respond to my DMs?
I try to respond to all of the direct messages Jambo Bot gets, but I can get 100+ DMs a day, and so it can get too difficult to respond to them. Also, if you DM about an insensitive tweet, I get between 3 to 30 per insensitive tweet and so I usually only respond to one. I read all of the DMs I get sent, I just don't always reply to them.
Can Jambo Bot respond to my tweets?
The current Jambo Bot account (@JamboBot) will be solely devoted to responding to content creators that are relevant to Jambo. I may make a second Jambo Bot account that could respond to anyone, but there are no plans to make one yet.
Jambo Bot responds to my tweets but I don't want it to.
If you don't want to block the account for whatever reason (no hard feelings if you do block the account) just DM me. I'll be more than happy to remove you from the bot. Don't just remove me from following you, since I will forget and just refollow you a week later.

In case you are wondering why JamboBot doesn't respond to certain accounts, it may be because they have blocked the account. No hard feelings whatsoever to anyone who blocked the account, as they have every right to determine what they want in the replies or not, and since the bot can definitely get annoying.
